After listening to the ad, the listener should be aware of the brand and product being promoted. Then he should have a strong reason not to be able to resist calling the company. However, for too cute advertisements, the listeners are left in awe and confusion on what the radio commercial is all about. Instead of generating leads and responses from listeners, the audience will doubt if the company is serious in its business or just trying to annoy everyone. Remember, an entertaining ad is good but an information rich commercial is a lot better. If the listeners will find no reason to call then the ad failed and will lead to the second major mistake in radio advertising.

Lack of Call to Action

In order for the consumers to take action, they need to have a reason. With interest in the company, the consumers will call the hotline, visit the company store or website. It is never enough for the consumer to know that the company exists. They need to have a strong reason to interact with the company.

One of the best ways to give the customers a reason to act is by giving them FREE and special offers. Whether it is free consultation, free coupons, information, newsletter subscriptions or free lunch, as long as it is free or giving guarantees, the customers will have lots of reason to contact the company.

In giving discounts, do not use rough figures, be précised. Instead of giving 15 percent discount, which the consumer has to calculate, give a Dollar figure. For example, if the product cost 80 dollars, the company can offer 20 dollar discount on the next purchase. This will make an irresistible offer to the clients.

Radio commercial is all about communicating to the consumers. Honesty and sincerity in the advertisement will increase brand recognition and the reputation of the company.
